Brooklyn Vegan features Muscle Worship

Brooklyn Vegan previews Müscle Wörship’s upcoming Brooklyn show at Glasslands, and shares the band’s tour dates and album stream:

Muscle Worship’s self-titled debut LP, which came out earlier this year, is packed with raw riffage and distorted vocals that fall somewhere between the attack of post-hardcore and the sharp quickness of post-punk.

Sirens of Decay reviews Borrowed Beams of Light track

Sirens of Decay reviews the title track of Borrowed Beams of Light’s new album On The Wings Of A Bug:

Hibernator Gigs, home to two of the more interesting artists I’ve uncovered in my interweb travels, released Borrowed Beams Of Light’s latest record…“On The Wings Of A Bug” is as candidly quirky as anything else you might expect from the Borrowed Beams, what with it’s short X-Files intro segue into a dainty little rhythm and sunny sounding vocals. There’s some inherent joy in this track, like a child at play with something he doesn’t understand.

The Sound of Confusion features Borrowed Beams of Light

UK music blog The Sound of Confusion reviews the title track of Borrowed Beams of Light’s new album On The Wings Of A Bug:

We’d be inclined to say that the title-track from new album ‘On The Wings Of A Bug’ is cosmic Americana mixed with indie-rock, and also that it’s a cracker.

Kick Kick Snare features new Borrowed Beams of Light single

Kick Kick Snare features “Songbird Bouquet”, the second single from Borrowed Beams of Light’s forthcoming album On The Wings Of A Bug:

“Songbird Bouquet” is a short and sweet 2 minutes of light hearted indie rock complete with hand claps, bells, horns, and awesome lines like “How can you fit all that song in one bird.” It’s bright and easy to take in but makes you want to pump your fist and singalong all the same.

Daikaiju in Columbia Free-Times

Columbia Free-Times previews Daikaiju’s show:

The quartet’s surf-rock onslaught hits like a B-movie monster (“daikaiju” loosely translates from its original Japanese to “giant monster”): Drums pound with the might of Anguirus and bass lines hit with the power of Gigan; boingy guitar riffs soar like Rodan and split in multiple directions like the hydra-headed King Ghidorah. The yin to Man or Astroman?’s yang, Daikaiju always hits at full impact characterized by muscular prog-metal riffs, percussive complexity and exotic reverb-drenched shredding. All you can do is hope to survive.
