Levi Parham in Flagstaff Live!

Flagstaff Live features Levi Parham as a Hot Pick this week:

Levi Parham shines as a dazzling mash-up of radical down-stroke blues sung in the sultry vibrato of a terresetrial angel with perfectly groomed facial hair… Parham’s on a roll, piquing interest with every show in a display of soulful resonance that captures the spirit of the truest blues, though his catalog runs the gamut.

Rock and Roll Creations reviews Pollen’s “Buyer’s” EP

Rock and Roll Creations reviews Pollen‘s Buyer’s EP, coming out on cassette and digital formats on March 10th:

Full of heavy sounding tunes with a slight punk and indie tone to them, the band also try to highlight social issues with their well-crafted lyrics. With plenty of distorted sounding guitars and vocals, they manage to convey a feeling of living in the modern world with their music.

SONG PREMIERE: Frogbelly and Symphony premiere 2nd single “Minderbinder”

Groundsounds premieres NYC/UK 4-piece Frogbelly and Symphony‘s second single “Minderbinder” from their debut full-length Blue Bright Ow Sleep, an ode to the character from Joseph Heller’s Catch 22 and dedicated to the opportunistic existentialist punk in us all. The album is out in the U.S. on March 24th on CD, vinyl and digital formats from Labelship UK.

The Deli Austin reviews Pollen’s new “Buyer’s” EP

The Deli Austin reviews Pollen‘s Buyer’s EP, coming out on cassette on March 10th:

It’s raw as fuck music, both in terms of its no frills, no bullshit approach and for its true garage band sound, and single “Supply Chain” is one that’ll get pounding around in your head for a while. It’s a little bit old NYC dancepunk with a bit of D.C.’s The Evens, plus some Austin awareness and DIY that work pretty well together.

Annalibera mention in Columbia Tribune

Annalibera receives a mention in the Columbia Tribune in their feature on Cafe Berlin:

Annalibera is one of a trio of Iowa acts that will share a bill at Cafe Berlin (Columbia, MO). Dubbing itself a ‘twang-shoe chambergaze band,’ Annalibera makes hazy, lush and lovely pop that recalls both the moodier and more melodic sides of New Wave and ’90s alt-rock.

FULL STREAM PREMIERE: Band Bombshell premieres Karen Meat & the Computer EP

Band Bombshell premieres the full stream of the Karen Meat and the Computer EP, out on cassette and digital formats from Karen Meat & the Players on March 3rd from Red Nude Tapes.

“Their debut EP—a 5-song compilation that perfectly pulls together vocalist Arin Eaton’s frolicking drawl and the trademark sound of Eaton’s “Players”…the only way to describe the result is, well, catchy.”

DSM Shows reviews Karen Meat & the Players new EP

DSM Shows reviews the new Karen Meat & the Computer EP by Karen Meat & the Players, out on March 3rd on cassette and digital formats on Red Nude Tapes.

For an album that contains songs that are mostly about pizza, beer, and dysfunctional relationships, Karen Meat’s latest offering, ‘Karen Meat & The Computer,’ is utterly and unrelentingly adorable. In the span of just five tracks, from three different songwriters, they manage to articulate a unified theme and a fresh, challenging take on the world that is vexingly rooted in both the kitschy and the macabre. Somehow it is both cute and gritty, exhibiting pop sensibilities in equal measure to it’s hooligan nature.

Read the rest of the review at DSM Shows and pre-order the cassette or pick it up in Des Moines at Vaudeville Mews on Friday, February 27th.

“Beautifully moody…Its emotive vocals ebb and flow, reaching a climax during the chorus while a slow-burning mesh of synths, percussion and carefully plucked guitar swirl overhead.”

Nooga.com reviews Frogbelly and Symphony’s song “Patch of Blue”

Nooga.com reviews Frogbelly and Symphony‘s new single “Patch of Blue” from their forthcoming debut album Blue Bright Ow Sleep, out on March 24th on Labelship UK:

Dense guitar riffs, a thudding percussive backbone and singer Liz Hanley’s powerful voice lead us along this road of opaque rhythms and mercurial instrumentation—the song incorporates bits of experimental noise and sound, all blended together in a jarring suite of music that feels like the tail end of a terrifying trip through Frankenstein’s laboratory.
