Beats For The Soul reviews Field Division debut EP for Des Moines Is Not Boring

Dave Murphy writes a beautiful review of Field Division’s debut EP Reverie State for Beats For The Soul on Des Moines Is Not Boring.

[Reverie State] is this sweeping, epic artistic triumph that makes full use of not only their talents as musicians, but as artists, as travelers, as experimenters and as dreamers…It’s an honest to god travel epic in song form. They could’ve stuck with just the voice and just the guitar and had something, but what makes this track noteworthy is just how far they’re willing to take it.

Band Bombshell reviews Field Division show

Band Bombshell reviews Field Division‘s recent show at Vaudeville Mews:

Field Division’s music comes from a place of youthful unrest, of wanderlust, of putting your hometown in the rearview mirror until it looks as small as it feels…Their music comes from the ability to close your eyes while sitting inside on an overcast day and actually feel the sun on your face. Their music, however deeply rooted it may be in the the peaceful tranquility of an Iowa childhood, has its head irretrievably lost up in the clouds of the western skies.

White Girl on I Heart Local Music

I Heart Local Music features White Girl and his forthcoming 7″ “M.E.T.R.O.R.O.C.K.” b/w “Cocky,” out November 4th on Nice, Nice Records with a release party on Halloween at Riot Room in Kansas City:

You really have to be a mastermind to pull off what this guy does…Bush creates his own special brand of electro and techno that could really get the masses moving. The one-man-band sings through a series of vocal effects over a flurry of his own electronic noises. The songs have a solid structure and should really turn some heads in this town. Additionally, his presentation is phenomenal. He sits atop of some sort of glowing space ship he put together, constantly enveloped in fog and lasers while projections play on a large screen next to him. It’s a neon, electronic, 80′s dance party to the max, and there’s no shame in enjoying these maneuvers.

Dimestore Saints reviews Field Division’s debut EP Reverie State

Dimestore Saints reviews Field Division’s debut EP Reverie State and designates the release “Best New Music.”

while “faultlines” explores the pastoral realm of field division’s sound, its immediate successor is much darker and more sinister in instrumentation, a subterranean bass line more so felt than heard holding the track together. combined with taylor’s soaring vocal melody throughout the chorus and frampton’s spacious, rolled guitar chords, “of lives we’ve never known” finds the duo quickly flexing an equally-impressive dream-pop muscle…reverie state is a concise package that showcases a young project of seasoned musicians with a bright future.

Dig Baton Rouge reviews England in 1819’s “Summer Lightning” EP

Dig Baton Rouge reviews England in 1819’s new EP Summer Lightning:

England In 1819’s newest EP, Summer Lightning, is an eerie, industrial piece laden with alternative rock sensibilities and uplifting, airy melodies that illustrate the aptly fitting title…as the group’s ability to capture those maximalist, completely sonically enveloping sounds in the studio has become abundantly clear, their October 30th performance at Chelsea’s Café will give fans the opportunity to see the talented duo live, in action, and hopefully capture some of that magic that is present throughout their latest, glowing body of work.
